I think if anythingm it could hurt apple's image. I don't really see why they should tangle themsleves in the phone buisness. What's out there is good enough, and unless they make more of a blackberry than a cell phone with great features, I really don't care for any rumors regarding it.

We need unions to protect people from abusive BS like this (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/12/walmart-contracted-warehouse-workers_n_848262.html). Either that or we just need to have a limit on how big a company can get before it has to become the property of the employees.

That would certainly change my mind about getting a 20" iMac. ;)
EDIT: Anyone care to speculate on prices?
No more than $2,499/ 1,799. With the amount of internal room you would get behind a 23" monitor, Apple would have no problem putting in 4 RAM slots and a fast GPU (but I doubt Apple would do a fast GPU anyway).

Mind me asking you how high your unemployment rate is, and do you believe what your media tells you is true, or is the rate much higher than what is known?
Last I heard the unemployment rate in FL was reported to be around 12% and falling slowly. I feel secure in my job.
I'm not really sure who or what you mean by "the media". I get local news from the local newspaper and most everything else from NPR. As for the relative accuracy and/or truthfulness of these outlets, I try to apply the principles of Occam's Razor and generally don't worry about it beyond that.

I for one in disappointed they went with GSM
Well it makes sense, most of the world uses GSM, it's a much larger market for Apple to aim at, combined with the much lower cost of only having to develop one phone.
Plus Verizon are coonts.
HERE ARE THE PICTURES:
You're joking right? You realise these are pipe-dream mock ups right?

Don't 90% or more of the MP3 players on the market also infringe this patent (including the forthcoming Zune). By making this payout Apple have given Creative the means to fight other companies (such as Microsoft, Sandisk, etc) which could tie them up for years...Meanwhile, Apple have their nice license agreement and can continue unabated...
Because of Apple's actions, Creative can now legitimately force other MP3 player makers to pay too. I think this is what Apple wants.

Do you realize that Mail uses 100% of a core ALL THE TIME? If I leave it open I only have 3 cores to work with. I mean it's rediculous. I have to QUIT Mail to do my work. Absurd.
What? There's something screwed with your Mail.app.
Think about it. If Mail.app used 100% of a core ALL THE TIME, people with single CPU machines wouldn't be able to do anything.
Mail on my G5 iMac is sat there at 0.0% CPU utilisation when it's not doing anything.

A FrontRow AirPort Express device (with remote) is a much more cost effective way than buying a Mac Mini. Personally, I would love to play music, show my family pics and videos on my living room TV, but found a $600 Mac Mini too pricey for that. To be honest, I don't need (nor want to pay for) video editing software, music editing software, etc for my living room. An XBox can do that for half the price and it does games. I haven't gone the XBox route because it just seems too 'weird' and I'm waiting for the 'right' device to come out. I hoping this is it. :)
I would have to see however how 320x240 would look on my plasma. I have a feeling I'd be disappointed....especially for $10...so the Movie Store thing may not be for me!!

Apple still doesn't have upload to a cloud or wireless syncing, and Windows Phone does. 25 GB free sky drive, as well as a beautiful hub where you choose what to access at a glance.
mobile me does this, and I suspect, it will become free soon (or at least parts of it).

I hope you're getting paid well to post this crap.
Is there some reason you feel the need lash out at people?
Still, don't you feel dirty having to post references to obsolete "malware" like Leap-A and Inqtana-A that were never successful even before the OS was patched years ago??
You seem to be utterly oblivious to the whole point of the message which is that OSX is not invulnerable by any means, which seems to be the fanboy mantra of the week.
As for USB3 vs Lightpeak, your pitiful response makes me think you were one of the pinheads criticizing Apple for dropping floppy drives at the turn of the century.
Again, the childish lashing out of insults.... You do realize they don't make your opinions look any better don't you?
The idea of dropping a drive that takes up space is one thing, but to include USB2 ports while purposely leaving out USB3 ports (which take up the same amount of space and are 100% backwards compatible) is asinine. The fact you would feel the need to call people "pinheads" who think in a logical manner rather than blindly worship Steve and everything Apple does tells me all I need to know about you, really.

Honestly the term "app" didn't even exist 5 years ago. And yeah, it's super generic.
I support microsoft on this one, guys.
I keep hearing this...but yes it did. It was used occasionally for Windows Mobile apps, BlackBerry apps, and more. I just checked the internet wayback machine and found at handango.com several "apps" mentioned. Here is one "From business and personal productivity software to travel apps and games, we have the best mobile downloads to fit every interest."
The point is that its been used for quite a long time. Not as often back then as it is now, but it was used.

Absolutely perfect design? Not even close.
Things apple needs to do to make a better MBP with a redesign:
MUST DO:
(1) IPS screen. I actually don't mind lower resolutions on small screens (1280x800 is fine for 13.3"), but please, please give me a real IPS panel.
(2) Sharp edges need to go. I don't care what people say, working on a macbook for any extended period of time leaves deep grooves in my wrists/palms.
(3) A better design for cooling. Even with light cpu usage, the fans go crazy on my MBP and it gets terribly loud. Awful experience. I'm hoping Ivy Bridge will help with this. Either way, the fans need to be quieter. Maybe larger, slower fans rather than small fast ones?
WOULD BE NICE:
(4) Ability to turn off the super bright glowing apple logo would be nice
(5) Change 13.3" macbook to 14" (they prob won't do this)

This is how I've always pictured the iPhone. Candybar style Slider phones are a hit right now, as well as Music playing phones, most of which suck when it comes to playing music.
Apple needs to tap into this current market and release that thing before the holidays. All of the other concepts were way off, so un apple like. This is an apple phone. basically, an ipod with a small slide out keypad.
Apple's consumer market is growing and more people fit into it than the professional market. The demographic which wants smartphones (for the most part) don't want an apple smart phone. Now that's not to say that an apple smart phone can't be successful, its just in comparison to a consumer targeted cell phone.
Most cell phone buyers buy basic consumer cell phones. This is the perfect media player cell phone hybrid. It seems as if I'll be switching to cingular soon seeing as it will undoubtedly come out in cingular.

Just because Apple's profit was higher doesn't dispel the end for Microsoft or Google. Every company in American except one made less profit that Apple, and trust me, they aren't all "doomed or Dead"....

just encoded 5 secs of video using the quicktime default export for ipod... now the default is 640 x 480 that plays too. Please explain exactly how from where you did that. I am still trying with handbrake and EyeTV. The EyeTV2 export is supposed to be connected to the QuickTime but the iPod default is not H.264 640x480 in the EyetV2 Export windows.

Apple Insider was saying the movie price would be $14.99 -I would not pay that much to watch a movie on a small screen... no way, unless I had a hour long commute to work on a train... can't believe there are that many people like that out there!
Everyone ASSUMES they will make these DVDs available via MP4. Who's to say they dont offer up an ISO file that is the FULL DVD (extra's and all)? Maybe even the full DVD encoded in MP4.

You're on the road shooting, and traveling light. During breaks you upload your CF/SD cards to the new "Aperture.iPod". When you're sitting in a cafe, back at your hotel, or taking a train home you whip out the Aperture.iPod and using the Keywords.plist you uploaded from Aperture before you left you start Stacking, key-wording, and ranking images.
Next day you head to your studio, upload the new images from the Aperture.iPod to your MP 3Ghz (w/16 GB RAM and 3 TB of HDs!), and the first pass of your sorting is already done!
Pros would never do this. Their shots are too valuable to load onto a single device. They would always want to back it up to multiple disks, i.e. MBP & FireWire external drive.

"Macworld has confirmation from Apple that the new iMacs will support Target Display Mode but only when the device they are connected to is also a Thunderbolt equipped Mac."
Is that true?
If this is true, then the new 27" iMacs will not serve as a mirror device for the iPad 2 (which shoots out video at 1080 p).

That's right. But, with the plugins, it plays them just fine, so in theory it should be perfectly streamable, right?
I don't know where you got your plug-ins, but DivX under Quicktime freezes my whole computer for a few seconds when it loads the file.
Besides, forget DivX, especially with Apple devices. Rip your DVDs to H.264/AAC.

Just for the record, if you are against Apple getting rid of those toxic chemical compounds that can mess kids up, you sound like the type of guy who I would not want to associate with.
