Vanessa was born in 1980, at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. Her father is an American of Irish and Italian extraction, and her mother is a Filipina.
Vanessa won the Miss South Carolina pageant (1996) and the Miss Teen USA pageant (1998.)
In 2001 she breaks into show business with a recurring role on The Bold and the Beautiful. That same year, Minnillo cohosts the pilot Top of the Pops, and becomes one of three finalists in E!'s competition to host the network's travel series, Wild On.
In 2003, Minnillo hosts MTV's summer-long series The Morning After, which helps her ink a deal in September with the network. As the latest VJ, Minnillo appears on the daily countdown show Total Request Live, MTV News, and other shows in development.
In 2005, Hoping to draw the TRL crowd, Entertainment Tonight named Minnillo its newest correspondent.
Vannesa and Nick Lachey, after dating several years, have announced their wedding and plans to have it televised as a reality-TV show.
